Sietse Soles – Decaf 

This year, we wanted to do something bold: source a decaf we’re genuinely excited about. A coffee no one would ever guess is caffeine-free. Because even without caffeine, you should still be able to enjoy the full spectrum of flavors coffee has to offer. You may not bounce off the walls from the caffeine, but the funky flavors in this coffee just might do the trick.

The coffee is decaffeinated in Colombia using the so-called “Sugarcane” method. A byproduct of sugarcane is used to essentially draw the caffeine out of the coffee. This preserves the flavors while removing the caffeine. Because the process takes place in Colombia, the coffee arrives in the Netherlands much faster than if it were decaffeinated in Europe. And decaf is exactly the kind of coffee you want to enjoy fresh and in season, rather than letting it sit around for too long. So this makes a huge difference in quality.

At the moment, we actually have two coffees to choose from if you’re avoiding caffeine. What a luxury. We honestly can’t decide which one is our favorite. Both are incredible in their own way and bring something unique to the table. We’re curious to hear what you think!
