Would you want to make the best coffees at home or in your workplace? This training is here to help you out.

There are two goals of this training. There is a sensory aspect, which goal it is to learn how to recognise certain flavour properties of espresso and how to influence these. Does the coffee taste dry or is the aftertaste unpleasant? Where do these characteristics come from, and how can we fix it? The other one is to be have a consistent workflow. This will help you to always achieve that tasty balanced flavour in your espresso, as you have dialed in this flavour on your machine. At the end of this training you will be able to adjust these characteristics in your coffee all by yourself.

We will also shortly visit the basic techniques of texturing milk and a basis of how to pour your milk to start latte art.

Training is comparable to SCA skills foundation – intermediate. In comparison, we focus more on real world settings, practical issues and consistency.

  • Location is at Zijdebalenstraat 2, Utrecht or at the Europalaan
  • The training can be in English, if that’s your prefered language. The other possible language is Dutch. Most scheduled are in Dutch unless clearly stated.
  • Training will always be outside of the opening hours of the coffee bar
