Barista One
During the training we will shortly revisit the theory from the online module of “Barista Hustle”. We will be making and tasting different espresso coffees. The goal of this training is to learn how to recognise certain flavour properties of coffee and how to influence these. Does the coffee taste dry or is the aftertaste unpleasant? At the end of this training you will be able to adjust these characteristics in your coffee all by yourself. We ask all our students to finish the online module ahead of the training so we can start practicing immediately. To pass the test for a certificate you have to prepare four espressos within the guidelines and with a time limit of forty seconds. The milk drinks have to be ready within three minutes and thirty seconds and just like the espresso drinks they need to be made conform to the guidelines to consistently follow your espresso recipes. This certificate also holds a theoretical part of the exam.
This Barista Hustle Coaching Session is six hours long, including a lunch break. It is also a possibility to take part in this training during the evening. The training is then split in two. The training will be two times two and a half hours long, this is a great option if you wish to practice at home or in your own cafe in between the training sessions. Everyone taking the course will be granted online access to the Barista One module. You will study the online module independently, before the training session. During the training we assume you have finished the online modules, so we have plenty more time to put all theory into practice.
This training is the alternative for the SCA Barista skills module.

Learning how you can adjust the taste of your espresso to however you like it and how to prepare orders, including milk drinks, in the most efficient way. This course has the option to take an exam for a certificate “Barista one baseline”.
This course is for baristas who don’t have that much experience making preparing espressos with an espresso machine yet. This training is also very suitable for baristas who have more experience but want to refresh their skills and gain a better understanding of their basic barista skills.
